@Larisa : that quest isn’t gonna help the way you feel.
Quest: Evolve
Reward: +300 pts
Status: AvailableFrom Magikarp to Gyarados. Start in the water for a short swim. Dry yourself off and go for a run; don’t forget to look both ways when crossing streets. Finish out the quest with a set of pull ups. Complete these in one day’s workout.
You have to make it less boring. Try new workout, new exercise, new methods. Like learning japanese, there are ways to make it fun ( or at least, less boring )
I joined, I’m already training a little but with little consistency, maybe the level up system will give me a little boost haha. I hope it’s not too long do. Finding exercise and all.
I have my reasons. Your arguments have been noted. My offer is still standing.
I charge 10$/h to be a student if you are interested
Priority.
Excellent video but completely useless for someone who needs it because it will probably make him ”burn out” mentally or pull a muscle or something. And completely useless for someone who doesn’t need it because…he doesn’t need it.
Anyway, it’s been almost a year since I started to learn and even if I’m not as good as I wanted to be, I am pretty damn proud of me.
As for this year goal, it’s simple : Continue to learn while having maximum fun possible.
Oh and on the side i’ll go with good nights of sleep too. I lack regularity in that aspect.
You should try RTK first, not that I think it’s better than Textfugu, but there is just not enough kanjis in textfugu yet to properly learn them. An other way to do it (in my opinion and it is what I’m doing) is learning it via vocabs/sentences.
Each methods have their strong and weak points, you need to find what work best for you. But Textfugu isn’t an option (yet)
oh! I am new here and so far I am loving it! I guess starting out late was good then and the site will probably be updated by the time I get there right? :P
I hope so for you ^^Plus I agree this is hard stuff. It isn’t easy to come up with a coherent language teaching site. Give the guys some credit!
We do, this wasn’t the point.By the way, I believe that at this rate of updates a life time membership makes a lot more sense than the monthly membership.
Yeah since a monthly membership would cost you 20$ for 2 lessons and some kanjis. As for a new member, a way to do it would be to buy 1 monthly membership, copy and paste all textfugu on your computer and you’d have enough for some months of study ( but no audio ), after all that study, you buy another 1 month and you study what was added during the …let’s say, 6 months you were studying. And after that, you are ready/better off going on your own than wait for lessons.Oh and why the negativity? From what I understand if you understand basic Japanese then there are other sources that you can utilize right?
Again, that’s not the reason of the negativity :)By posting here you clearly are just looking for sympathy and encouragement. Since I’m a kind soul here it is : Oh come on man you can do it, don’t give up, you have invested so much time, money and effort. Believe in you and have more confidence.
For the newbies :
Like マーク・ウェーバー said about what Koichi wrote : I try to put out 1-2 lessons and 10-20 kanji per week, plus a few other little things
and like Elenkis said about what Koichi wrote : At the start of this year Koichi said his goal was to finish all the basic content by the end of 2011, which was to be 6 seasons or more (this was before the seasons were split in half). Obviously that goal isn’t even close to being achieved, but stuff happens. The 1-2 lessons per week is more like 2 lessons per months when producing lessons. There has been a lot of re-design and rebuilt of the website and of earlier lesson that took a lot of time. We were even excited about Audio lesson for a while…that didn’t go well.
So yeah things were said and it didn’t get done. On the up side, things are supposed to be REALLY set up for all the content now and the lessons are better than before(v3) for you new people. For people who learned with v1, they are long gone to other learning sources and for people with v2, they went to other sources recently or will soon. I just hope for you guys that there won’t be v4.
I’m glad I didn’t have to pay 220$ (has been 11 months since I’m here). And I don’t think textfugu has reached intermediaire yet.
”Most companies have a ton of people working on things – In terms of content, it’s just me”
I’ll just say that it isn’t our problem and this issue is not new. If you don’t want help it’s fine by me but please don’t answer when we say it’s not enough by : it’s always like that, you want more, I give more and you ask more 2 months later, because even if it’s actually more, it’s not by much and it really doesn’t feel like that.
It’s not enough, you can’t do more alone, that’s sad, it’s life.Just want to +1 thisiskyle post, this is about exactly what I’d say if I had any talents at expressing myself.
