    Guess who COMPLETELY forgot they posted this, lol.

    I used Genki 1/2 + An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese back in college, so what I may end up doing is a quick review of my Genki books (ignoring their kanji sections, even though I’m going to learn to write SOMEDAY b/c Koichi’s insistence that it isn’t necessary might be my least favorite thing about TF/WK). After that, I take your advice and check out Tobira; I remember HATING An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese, so I’d rather not pick it up again if possible. |D

    And thank you for finding that thread, Joel! I’m still reading it, but all the talk about how reading is a huge gap in what TextFugu offers makes me even sadder that the new direction of EtoEto seems to be moving away from the inclusion of reading practice rather than towards…

    Oh man, that sounds like fun! I wish I could do that, but I wouldn’t be able to take time off from my job, either. ;;

    Ritsumeikan was amazing. My time spent studying abroad was truly one of the best experiences of my life. Even though I ran into a lot of unexpected financial difficulties and other hardships when I returned (a lot of which fell on the fact that my university seemed to have no idea how to handle my transition back home, even though they dealt with hundreds of their students participating in exchange programs every year), I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. If you ever have the chance to spend an extended period of time in Japan you should absolutely go for it.
