Practicing ません
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” - Martin Luther King, Jr.
As always, be sure to keep practicing your verbs vocab list. Do it little by little and you’ll learn a lot. Try to do it all at once? Well… I’ll take little by little any day, personally.
For this practice, I’m going to ask you a question. You can answer in two different ways: using ます form or using ません form (ignore ました form for now). These answers are your opinions. There’s no right or wrong answer, unless your answer isn’t one of the two possible answers :P
Give it a try:
a Q. にほんご を はなしますか?
Do you speak English?
Do you believe in UFOs?
Do you do (play) video games?
Yes, I play video games
No, I do not play video games.
Are you getting a feel for ません now (hopefully some of those answers used ません!)? Now it’s time to learn the last one. After that, you can do a lot with your verbs knowledge (that is, if you’ve been studying your lists. You should do that!
