    はじめまして、トラビスーさん、

it’s been the same for me: I’ve been learning Japanese for about two years on my own now, with books and some programs, and even the help of my Japanese friends, but somehow it all became chaotic and I got stuck – but so far, I think TextFugu is quite a good help, even if there are not many new things in the beginning, you’ll get a new structure and perspective. Anyway: 頑張って!

These are quite good reasons for learning Japanese! I’m sure you’ll manage it – and you have personal teacher in your friend – couldn’t be better, ね?

Thank you, Laurel! Yes, so far TextFugu is quite a help for me – there isn’t much new by now, but the things I already have learned become somehow new structured, and that is quite a good, too. Wish you a fine time and furthermore good results, also!

the summit is number ten? oh,  I thought it was nine… :-) we stayed at the last hut before the summit (I think it’s 8 1/2?) and there they told us, the next point would be the summit… (maybe they just wanted to be nice to us…). Anyway, mountain-sickness or not (and partially really bad weather) it was more than worth the effort, not just because of the view, but especially because of the (south-)korean group, that adopted us, and the people in the hut, who were quite funny and lovable.

Hello Cassandra, …it’s still not a blog, (I’ve always planned to set one up, but I’m still hesitating, ’cause I’d like to write it in English, but I’m no native speaker, and… so on :-)). But I have some fotos to offer – does that count, too? http://www.flickr.com/photos/genki-berlin/ Cheers, Alexa

sorry, I just saw, it’s the wrong link, this one is better: http://www.flickr.com/photos/genki-berlin/sets/72157631484984760/

Joel, I just had a short visit at your blog, by now (I’ll come back, for sure!), and I saw, you made almost the same experience – we had the same idea like you, that it would be something like an afternoon-walk, but that wasn’t nice and easy at all, was it? :-) are you going to give it a new try? I’m almost sure, I won’t (but my husband would like to… oh, my…:-).

no, we didn’t, we had to stay at 8. station, the last one before the summit (with the summit in view!), because I got mountain-sickness – that wasn’t really funny, but I found quite a lot of new friends there (those who were ill, too, and those who cared about us), and today I think, that was an experience worth to be made, even more than reaching the summit somehow…
