How do I say “Volume 9″, as in the 9th book?
I can say; おおかみと こうしんりょうの きゅ冊を よんでいます。But I assume this means; I’m currently reading nine books of spice and wolf.yggbert leads the competition with Master…Bates, poor guy.
@Joel, That does seem to be the case. I’ve never looked into yobisute very deeply before, and it seems theres a lot of confusion between cultures so it’s good to know.

And as a related question; when people allow their name suffix to be dropped, is it dropped only when talking to each other or dropped even when speaking the name to third parties?True, who would ever describe something as celiling colour. Actually I just wrote the first kanji that came to mind, while looking around the room for an example.

Thanks that’s a great idea. I skimmed over the lessons again anyway (while scrolling carefully so I wouldn’t see the englsih) but it was rather tedious.
Actually that was a bit vague. What I meant was that the radical name changed between learning it an the Kanji for family name.
Also the Kanji vocab 4-7 includes the vocab for 4-8.Did I get caught in an update?
My family name seems to have become Duck, what a surprise! (just starting 4-stroke kanji part 7)
I’m also mysteriously behind on the radicals, are there some extra pages I should look for?
