You can check the whole collection by clicking the “collection” radio button at the bottom of the statistics (at least in Anki2, dunno about 1)

The way Koichi teaches it makes it easier to build on later. です is used for more than just “is” in Japanese, so first you have to remove your preconceptions about it. I know it’s hard, but just take a deep breath and trust in Koichi. Try not to get all nitpicky about what’s an article and what’s a machine gun, because you’re wasting effort on that when you could be forging ahead and learning all the other ways to use です。 ^_~

Just finished Season 2! I still have a lot of work to do, but I’m pretty chuffed at my progress. ^_^

I have a bookmark on my Toolbar, and I copypasta the url of the last page I was on into it via the magic Properties option. It’s labeled as “Current” on my toolbar. I also have the TOC and the Kanji page bookmark’d on my toolbar, for easy reference.

Honestly, the “particle” issue confused me for a moment, as well…but even the Wikipedia page has “to” listed as a particle, and I learned that as a preposition when I was in school, so…

It’s not like it’s a huge deal. I mean, Japanese grammar and English grammar don’t exactly jive together without fighting over what words are what parts of speech, much less with worrying over whether ‘is’ is a tense modifier, a verb, a particle, or a pan-galactic gargle blaster.

Ron Moses, what I ended up doing was making a filtered deck. Go to Tools at the top, then Create Filtered Deck.
