Not a stupid question at all.  Just install Microsoft IME.  It’s FREE.  There are lots of videos on youtube that will show you how.

I think you’re OK.   玉子 is used for chicken eggs only and for eggs that have been cooked (like an omellette =玉子焼き).

卵 = eggs in general.   I haven’t eaten lunch yet, this is making me hungry….

Sounds like you’re doing all the rigbt things. I don’t know why it’s not working. Maybe some others might be able to offer some suggestions. Sorry.

Do any of the cards in the Basic nouns 2 deck have sound or do all of the cards not have sound?

If they all don’t have sound then the Basic nouns 2.media files (which are .mp3 files for each of the words) are not getting imported into anki.  If some of the cards have sound and some don’t then I have no idea what’s going on.

    Mark (or anyone else),

dumb question here.  why does your question end with は ? Is this normal?

    (見出す
    見つけ出す
    の違いは?)

Your English is pretty good for someone who is self-taught.

By the way, I read recently that France is THE most visited country in the entire world.  There are more tourist visits to France than anywhere else.  Why is that?

If you really like cats then write about cats.  Sounds like a good topic to me, don’t you think?

Yes, I’ve heard native speakers pronounce it as “shitori” as well and wondered about it myself.  Here’s what one native speaker says about it.

“and you also said that it sounds like “shitori”.
thats right in a way, too.
“shitori” is easier to say than “hitori” in some situations.
its like english “t” sometimes can be “d”.
    actually i sometimes say “shitori”.
and one of the good examples is that words “hitsuji” and “shituji” are verry similar.
BUT the correct pronunciation is “hitori”, and i recommend you say in this way.”

I watched the first episode of the TV remake of GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) with AKIRA.  It had Japanese subtitles (but no English subtitles).  I couldn’t figure out everything they we saying. What do these sentences mean?  In the third sentence, is ありますんで a conjugation of ある?                        Thanks.

    1. 先生 ああいうの許せませんよね。

    2. 何か 困ったことがありましたら遠慮なく こちらまで。

    3. じゃあ 仕事がありますんで。
